Spalding Flower Parade at The Riverbank – 90/365
Every year Spalding has a Flower Parade. People have travelled from far and wide over the years to come and see tractors dressed up in wire frames covered in Tulips. The streets are packed with people, but for the younger generation the riverbank has always been the main attraction. Hundreds of people descend on the banks outside the Poacher pub, bring their own drinks and get sloshed in the sunshine with their friends. The Police threatened to thwart everyones plans this year, saying that they would take the alcohol off people as they were arriving, but this clearly didn’t happen.
This photo only shows about half the street, but it was almost as packed back up the other way towards High Bridge this year.
Nothing stops the fun.

Leaving On A Jet Plane, Don’t Know When I’ll Be Back Again – 71/365

Leaving On A Jet Plane, Don’t Know When I’ll Be Back Again – 71/365, originally uploaded by Simon Wicks.
The flight home from Scotland last night. Was sad to be leaving. The plane only had about 10 other people on it as well!
Ahh, the leg room, or not.

BGirl Lyra – 65/365
This is BGirl Lyra, she was 2005′s UK BGirl champion.
I was walking through Piccadilly Circus earlier when I saw a crowd of people gathering around the Eros statue, so I stopped to take a look. Lino on the floor, and a group of dancers, she was egging people to move in closer so they could put on a show. I moved in, and sat myself down on the floor camera in hand and filled my entire memory card with shots of them doing their stuff.
You can tell the weathers getting better, the chairs are out in St James’ Park for people to sit on, and crowds of people are setting up and doing impromptu things like this all over London. This is the first time I’ve had my camera on hand ready to try and capture some of it though.
I emptied my walled into one of their hats as a thank you for the opportunity to capture some pictures, but I didn’t leave without leaving them my details incase they wanted some of the shots as well.
Lyra has a great portfolio of stuff behind her, loads of adverts and a sponsorship from Nike to boot.

Scattered Few – 60/365 – @JTScattered_Few
This is my friend Jena, from the band Scattered Few.
I went to see her band support Jenny Owen Youngs at the Water Rats near Kings Cross. That place is tiny, and HOT, boiling hot. I didn’t have much room to move around and shoot pics, so I got a lot of heads..
Was a big crowd, maybe the biggest crowd I’ve seen there for all the gigs I’ve been to and times I’ve seen her play.
Was a great gig, and you should check out her band as well, nothing like a free plug eh?

Long Road To Ruin – 53/365
Rain and lots of it again this evening.
I took a wander around for an hour or so, snapped a few pictures around the fire-station just round the corner from the office, then wandered in through the big open doors to snap some shots of the eerie green light. Then, instead of being asked to move on, one of the firemen asked me if i wanted someone to show me round! I said no thanks as i’m sure they had better things to be doing and he said i’ll leave you to it then. Is some nice people out there it seems who don’t just tell you to move on.
Taken just next to the tube station, as none of the fire-station shots came out that well, will try to go back another time and ask for that tour!
Modern Art is Rubbish – 47/365
I had a plan for a photo today, but that was dashed by the fact it started to rain as I was leaving the office. Completely out of an idea I ventured some streets I don’t often walk around looking for some ideas.
I came across this ‘art’ near one of the entrances to St James’ Park Tube Station, thought it might make for some interesting shots. As soon as i pulled my camera out this kid walked up in front of me and just stood there, staring at it. I shot off a couple pics (this being one of them) and walked around the other side. You could see him silhouette through the glass, and as I moved from side to side he seemed to follow me but on the opposite side, guess he could see me moving around as well.
Caricatures – 46/365
Taken this evening in Leicester Square. Not quite sure what he was doing, but he wouldn’t sit still, so he has a little blur in his face

Market Men – 37/365
I’ve gone for something a little different with my choice tonight. I’m not really one for taking pictures of people when I’m out and about, unless I know them. But, I’m going to try and be more sneaky from now on, and see what I can come up with.
This is a little bit of a rough start, I only managed to get 4 shots before my battery died, but wanted to use this one for today to start the new idea off.
Taken near Victoria Station. I’ll go back one evening as they’re always there and try to get some better ones.
