Urquhart Castle, Loch Ness – 69/365
Loch Ness taken from the pier at Urquhart Castle.
Was such a beautiful day to visit, so hot and the sky a lovely shade of blue.
I was tempted to take the boat out of this shot, but for now i think it add’s just a little bit more to it.

BGirl Lyra – 65/365
This is BGirl Lyra, she was 2005′s UK BGirl champion.
I was walking through Piccadilly Circus earlier when I saw a crowd of people gathering around the Eros statue, so I stopped to take a look. Lino on the floor, and a group of dancers, she was egging people to move in closer so they could put on a show. I moved in, and sat myself down on the floor camera in hand and filled my entire memory card with shots of them doing their stuff.
You can tell the weathers getting better, the chairs are out in St James’ Park for people to sit on, and crowds of people are setting up and doing impromptu things like this all over London. This is the first time I’ve had my camera on hand ready to try and capture some of it though.
I emptied my walled into one of their hats as a thank you for the opportunity to capture some pictures, but I didn’t leave without leaving them my details incase they wanted some of the shots as well.
Lyra has a great portfolio of stuff behind her, loads of adverts and a sponsorship from Nike to boot.

Daff – 64/365
I picked some daffodils while I was out earlier, hoping to use them for a picture for today. I messed around for a while with them in different positions. Still finding the 50mm 1.4 a bit tricky to shoot indoors with, it’s defiantly no good for close up shots, especially shot without a tripod.
This was shot handheld though, iso 800 / 1.4
Northala Fields – Small Planet – 63/365
Today me and the girlfriend took a trip to Northala Fields in Northolt, London.
These are man made hills, constructed using rubble from the demolition of the original Wembley Stadium, which was pulled down in 2000.
I tired to do a full 360 panorama, and use Hugin to stitch it together with the pic for the top and the pic for the floor. But it failed, was just completely wrong, all over the place. So i just used Photoshop, as I usually do. Then a plugin and some tweaks to create the small planet.
It’s not perfect, the panorama didn’t quite line up, i managed to sort some of it out by cropping the photo before i merged it all, but there is still some left over.
From up here you can see right across to Canary Wharf, you can see the Gherkin, and the new Heron Tower. You can also see Wembley Stadium, and planes lining up to land at Heathrow.

Geese n’ Hiils – 62/365
I was waiting for the moon to take a photo yesterday, as i’ve never tried to capture it. But it didnt come out to play! I looked all over, and I just couldn’t find it, so I didnt manage to get a photo for yesterday.
This one was taken today at Northala Fields, in Northolt, London, same as 63/365′s small planet pic.

1st Daytime Long Exposure, With Welders Glass – 61/365
Bit of an odd one for today..
But this is a 231 Second, ISO 100, f22 shot. A daytime long exposure! Not taken with a regular ND filter either, this was taken with a £1 piece of welding mask glass..
Clever, and a lot cheaper than a 10 stop ND filter.
This is the first time I’ve tried it after finding the thread on the talk photography forums a few weeks ago, and buying a couple pieces i needed to give it a go.
The welding glass, coupled with a Cokin adapter ring, and some black tape to hold the glass onto it gives you an almost completely black shot through the camera.
I took a 10 second regular shot through the glass to get an image to use as the white balance as the shots just come out green else, and I tried this but had no joy in correcting the RAW file back to the original colours.
I tried a whole bunch of times an f stops for a couple of hours to see what different results I got. Some were ok, some were too dark / too light. The weathers been a bit funny today as well, dark, light cloudy, clear, can’t make it’s mind up!
I think this is one of the best ones that i managed to capture. Yes, it’s a boring subject as it’s just out my bedroom window at home, but as it was my first try at this i’ve forgiven myself and next time it will be a little more interesting. Promise.

Oh and that was taken with the kit lens, needs a clean.. I managed to clone out some parts, but I didnt go to that much effort.
Scattered Few – 60/365 – @JTScattered_Few
This is my friend Jena, from the band Scattered Few.
I went to see her band support Jenny Owen Youngs at the Water Rats near Kings Cross. That place is tiny, and HOT, boiling hot. I didn’t have much room to move around and shoot pics, so I got a lot of heads..
Was a big crowd, maybe the biggest crowd I’ve seen there for all the gigs I’ve been to and times I’ve seen her play.
Was a great gig, and you should check out her band as well, nothing like a free plug eh?

No It Wasn’t – 59/365
Took this one last night when I was out for some drinks after work to celebrate some things.
I think the people who had the table before us were a bit unhappy with their food and left the sign pointing at one of the meals.
